Tigers Dominate Despite a Strong Start by Meidroth

The final score of 13-1 might not reflect it, but there was a glimmer of hope in the bottom of the 1st when Chase Meidroth doubled to left to kick things off for the Chicago White Sox. Unfortunately, our batters couldn’t capitalize, as Mike Tauchman and Andrew Benintendi ended up swinging through their opportunities. The Tigers came out swinging immediately with Kerry Carpenter and Dillon Dingler launching home runs. That quick start put the Tigers up by 3 before we could even blink. 😬 But hey, baseball is full of surprises, right?

A Glimmer of Hope?

The game kept slipping away as the middle innings arrived, with Gleyber Torres and Wenceel Perez continuing to pour it on for the Tigers. Vinny Capra tried to make some defensive adjustments and did manage to cool their bats a bit, but it was too late. Our guys just couldn't find the rhythm at the plate. That all being said, we finally found a bit of daylight in the 6th inning when Meidroth continued his solid performance by scoring our lone run after Austin Slater doubled. Other than that, though? Not much to cheer about. 😞

Tough Day for the Pitchers

Starting off with Bryse Wilson getting shelled with home runs didn't help our cause, that's for sure. Then, Vinny Capra took the mound, and it felt like he was battling to keep the game within reach. But man, those Tigers hitters just wouldn’t let up. By the time Luis Robert Jr. lined out and Joshua Palacios got hit by a pitch in the late innings, it was clear we couldn't claw back. Some days are just tough at this old ball game. 😓

Well, there it is, folks. A rough outing, but let’s keep our heads up and look forward to the next one because that’s what makes a true White Sox fan, isn't it? See you back at the ballpark! ⚾📣
