Tough Outing for Guardians Against the Tigers​

Well, fellow Guardians fans, it wasn't our night as the Tigers handed us an 8-2 defeat. The game started off rough and unfortunately, we never quite found our rhythm. Let's break it down.

Tigers' Early Attack​

The top of the 1st inning set the tone with Matt Vierling doubling to left, followed by a two-run homer from Justyn-Henry Malloy, putting the Tigers up 2-0. Our bats were quiet in the bottom of the 1st as Steven Kwan, Angel Martínez, and Jose Ramírez couldn't get anything going.

Defense Struggles in the 2nd Inning​

The Tigers extended their lead in the 2nd inning, capitalizing on a throwing error by Angel Martínez that resulted in two more runs. David Fry showed some fight with a single, and Austin Hedges's bunt single got us on the board, but it wasn't enough.

Mid-Game Missed Opportunities​

By the middle of the game, the Tigers were up 6-1. We had our chances, but grounding into a double play in the 3rd and leaving runners stranded in the 4th and 5th innings hurt us. Our bullpen did manage to keep the game within reach for a while, but we couldn't capitalize offensively. Shoutout to Jose Ramírez for his efforts, but we needed more.

Late Game Woes​

The 8th inning saw another run for the Tigers, and although Jose Ramírez drove in a run in the 9th, it wasn't enough to rally a comeback. We just couldn't string together hits when we needed them.

Looking Forward​
