A Tough Outing for the Rockies

Hey Rockies fans! 😅 What a rough game that was! We just couldn't get the momentum going against the Tigers today, as they cruised to an 11-1 win. From the get-go, we looked promising, with Brenton Doyle earning a walk and Mickey Moniak delivering a nifty single to set the tone early on. However, it was short-lived as several double plays, unfortunately, hampered our scoring opportunities.

Shining Moment in the 2nd Inning

The highlight for us was definitely in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Mickey Moniak singled to right, and thanks to a smart fielder's choice by Owen Miller, Moniak dashed home to score the only run for our Rockies. 🎉 A moment of brilliance in a tough game!

Tiger's Roar in the 3rd Inning

The Tigers took charge in a brutal 3rd inning where they plated five runs, with Gleyber Torres hitting a clutch double that batted in three runs. It just seemed like everything was going right for Detroit, and their bats remained hot through the rest of the game. By the 7th inning, a homer by Colt Keith widened the gap to 8-1, making a comeback increasingly difficult for us.

Final Innings and Reflections

Despite our best efforts, the game slipped further into the 8th inning with Justyn-Henry Malloy's bases-clearing double, extending their lead to 11-1. 😓 Our bats fell silent in the final innings, and we just couldn't bring it back. Let's see this game as a learning experience for the team moving forward and hope they can regroup for the next matchup! Go Rockies! 💪⚾
