Tigers' Early Momentum

What a way to kick off the game! 🎉 Our boys came out swinging with Kerry Carpenter setting the tone early. In the top of the 1st inning, Carpenter smashed a homer to right center, putting the Tigers on the board with a 1-0 lead. It was a beautiful 398-foot shot, and you could feel the crowd’s excitement building up! Another notable highlight was when Riley Greene managed to single to center, and Spencer Torkelson got hit by a pitch, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize further.

Mid-Game Adventures

Moving into the 5th inning, things were looking good! Gleyber Torres brought some fire with a clutch single to right, driving in Jace Jung who had drawn a walk earlier. This stretched our lead to 2-0, but sadly, the Astros managed to keep things tight with some solid pitching.

But then the tide began to turn during the bottom of the 6th. With Paredes and Walker getting on the board, and a solid single from Yainer Diaz scoring two runs, the Astros took a 3-2 lead. The momentum shifted, and our struggles to contain their offense were evident in the 7th when they extended their lead to 6-2.

Tigers' Late Surge

Not ready to quit, the Tigers mounted a comeback attempt in the 9th inning. With two outs, Kerry Carpenter doubled to right—his efforts throughout the game were commendable. Gleyber Torres then homered to left, a 394-foot beauty that brought Carpenter home and closed the gap to 6-4. But despite the valiant effort, the victory eluded us as Zach McKinstry couldn't keep the rally going, striking out swinging to end the game.

While the final score was 4-6 in favor of the Astros, there were plenty of positives to take from the game. Our lads showed determination and fight, and we can only build from here. Go Tigers! 🐯💪
