Houston Astros fans, what a game! The Astros shut out the Detroit Tigers with a final score of 4-0, thanks to an explosive sixth inning that had us all on our feet!Pitching Dominance Early On
Both teams struggled to get on the board early. Top 1st saw Matt Vierling, Riley Greene, and Wenceel Perez retired in quick succession. Jose Altuve started strong with a double in the bottom of the 1st, but even with him advancing to third, we couldn't capitalize. Our pitchers were lights out from the beginning, with strikeouts galore, and the defense was impeccable. By the end of the 3rd inning, neither team had scored.
Explosive Sixth Inning for the Astros
The real excitement came in the bottom of the 6th. Jose Altuve doubled to left field, setting the stage. Alex Bregman tripled to center, bringing Altuve home. Then Yordan Alvarez hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Bregman to score, bringing the score to 2-0.Right when we thought it couldn't get better, Yainer Diaz singled to left, and Mauricio Dubón crushed a 371-foot homer to left field, scoring Diaz as well. The crowd went wild as the Astros extended their lead to 4-0!
Strong Finish and Stellar Pitching
Our pitchers kept the Tigers at bay. Bryan Abreu and Josh Hader finished off the job beautifully, not allowing Detroit any hopes of a comeback. The final inning saw Riley Greene, Wenceel Perez, and Mark Canha retired, sealing the game for Houston.Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman were the stars of the show, and let's not forget Mauricio Dubón's fantastic homer.
