Tigers Start Strong and Hold On for a Win
What a rollercoaster!
Our Detroit Tigers managed to edge out a nail-biting win against the Los Angeles Angels with a final score of 7-6. We started off hot and maintained a lead for most of the game, but boy, did the Angels make it interesting in the 9th inning! 
Ibanez and Malloy Light the Fire
The game kicked off with a bang as Andy Ibanez hit a triple to right and was brought home by a sacrifice fly from Mark Canha. We took an early 1-0 lead. In the 4th inning, Justyn-Henry Malloy gave us even more to cheer about with an incredible inside-the-park home run, driving in Wenceel Perez to make it 4-0.
Kelly Crushes It in the 5th
The 5th inning was golden for us! Carson Kelly stepped up and smashed a 407-foot homer to center field, driving in Ibanez and Jake Rogers. This extended our lead to a comfortable 7-0. It was a blast to watch the boys clicking on all cylinders.
Holding the Line Until the 9th
Our pitching staff did an amazing job keeping the Angels at bay through eight innings. Alex Faedo and Andrew Chafin were lights out, but the 9th inning got a bit too interesting for comfort. Zach Neto hit a three-run homer, followed by a two-run bomb from Jo Adell. Before we knew it, the Angels had clawed their way back to make it 6-7.
Miller and Holton to the Rescue
In the final inning, Garrett Hill came in as the closer but ran into some trouble. Good thing Tyler Holton was there to save the day, striking out Nolan Schanuel to end the game and secure the W for the Tigers.
Final Thoughts
It wasn’t easy, but a win is a win! Our Detroit Tigers showed grit, and it was a spectacular team effort. Kudos to Ibanez, Malloy, and Kelly for their amazing plays. Looking forward to keeping the momentum going in the next game! Go Tigers!
