Slugfest at the 5th Inning
As a passionate Detroit Tigers fan, it was another rollercoaster ride for us. The game started at a snail's pace with both teams scoreless through four innings. The Tigers had a tough time getting on base early, with Wenceel Perez, Riley Greene, and Mark Canha all getting out in quick succession in the 1st inning. The Twins were equally non-threatening with our pitchers keeping them at bay.Tigers Roar Back in the 5th
The action finally sparked up in the 5th inning when Justyn-Henry Malloy smashed a 402-foot solo homer to left, putting us on the scoreboard. Moments later, Akil Baddoo reached on an infield single, and following a pickoff error, Ryan Kreidler came through with a clutch 395-foot homer to left, sending Baddoo home for a two-run shot. We were roaring indeed, flipping the score in our favor, 3-2!Twins Fight Back
Unfortunately, our joy was short-lived as the Twins immediately responded. Manuel Margot tied the game with a towering 406-foot homer in the bottom of the 5th. The 7th inning saw a critical lapse with Byron Buxton hitting a ground-rule double, advancing to third on a wild pitch, and eventually scoring, giving the Twins a 4-3 lead. This scenario dampened our spirits as Will Vest and then Beau Brieske couldn’t hold off the Twins.Sealing the Deal
In the bottom of the 8th, Carlos Correa delivered another crushing blow with a 421-foot solo homer, boosting the Twins' lead to 5-3. Our boys tried valiantly in the top of the 9th but fell short. Keith, Malloy, and Baddoo were unable to get on base, and the game concluded with a disappointing 5-3 loss. While this game stings, we have to keep faith in our Tigers. We'll bounce back stronger!
