An Exciting Start, A Tough Finish

The Pittsburgh Pirates welcomed the Detroit Tigers for what started as a promising game at home, but ultimately, we couldn't pull through. After a quiet start in the 1st inning for both teams, the Tigers got things moving. The Tigers managed to score their first run, putting them up 1-0 early on.

Pirates Showcasing Power in the 3rd

In the bottom of the 3rd, Henry Davis sparked some much-needed momentum with a smashing homer to left, evening the score at 1-1! 👍 It seemed like our bats were starting to catch fire, yet, despite the efforts of Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Ji Hwan Bae, we couldn't push any more runs across in the inning.

A Roller Coaster Ride Through the Middle Innings

The Tigers surged in the 4th inning, with a three-run homer by Jahmai Jones and a solo homer by Trey Sweeney, leaving us trailing 5-1. However, our guys tried a comeback. By the 6th inning, Darick Hall added a homer of his own and later Endy Rodríguez launched a two-run shot, making it a tighter affair at 4-5.

Tigers Roar Back in the 7th and Hold On

Unfortunately, the tide turned in the top of the 7th when pinch-hitter Brian Serven hit a crushing three-run homer, boosting the Tigers' lead to 9-4. They added one more on the board, making it 10-4, and despite some baserunners in the later innings, our Bucs couldn't bridge the gap.

Though it wasn't the outcome we hoped for, our bats showed power with those key homers from Henry Davis and Endy Rodríguez. On to the next one, Pirates fans! Let's rally and come back stronger! ⚾💪
