First Inning: Nerves But No Runs
The game began with both teams showing jitters but no one managing to get on the scoreboard. Our pitching was solid with three quick outs. The Giants had a chance with bases loaded, but couldn't capitalize as Patrick Bailey and Mark Canha couldn't bring the runners home. Still, it was a sign that we were ready to put some pressure on the Tigers early.Second and Third Innings: Pitching Dominates
Both teams settled into a rhythm with solid pitching performances. Special shoutout to our pitchers who made quick work of the Tigers' lineup. Unfortunately, our bats also went silent during these innings. Michael Conforto and Heliot Ramos struck out swinging, leaving us looking for that spark.Fourth Inning: Defensive Display
A single by Baddoo gave the Tigers a little hope, but our defense quickly took care of the threat. The same story continued for us with three successive groundouts. It felt like a stalemate, but you could sense something brewing.Fifth Inning: Giants Strike!
The Tigers managed to get on the board first with Meadows scoring. However, our response was swift and awesome! Mike Yastrzemski started us off with a crucial single, and then Jerar Encarnacion followed with another single. The hero of the inning, Brett Wisely, doubled to right bringing both Yastrzemski and Encarnacion home. Not stopping there, Heliot Ramos singled to bring Wisely home, pushing us ahead 3-1. Giants took control of the game!Sixth and Seventh Innings: Holding the Lead
The Tigers tried to claw back with some hits, but our defense and pitching stood firm. A shining moment was when Tyler Fitzgerald stole second and third base, even though we couldn’t convert it into a run. Yet, our pitching continued to silence the Tigers' bats, preserving our lead heading into the final innings.Eighth Inning: Late Game Tension
Ty. Rogers came in and did a fantastic job with a quick three outs. In our half, we had a few good moments—Yastrzemski singled, and Encarnacion showed some hustle by stealing second. Unfortunately, no runs were added, but the tension was palpable.Ninth Inning: Closing It Out
It was time for Walker to close the game, and he did so in style. Though the Tigers managed to get runners on first and second, Dillon Dingler and Javier Báez were no match for our pitching. Walker struck out Báez to end the game with a 3-1 win for our Giants.A great team performance with timely hitting and solid pitching. Go Giants!
