A Rough Start for the Mariners

Well, Mariners fans, it was a tough one today against the Tigers. The first inning was particularly brutal as the Tigers pounced early, scoring six runs. Our starting pitcher seemed to struggle right out the gate. Justyn-Henry Malloy doubled, and Kerry Carpenter quickly followed with an RBI single. The Tigers capitalized on their momentum, with Riley Greene smashing a homer to seal a fierce beginning, making the score 0-6 before we could catch our breath. 😞

Bright Spots Amidst the Storm

Despite the rocky start, there were some glimmers of hope. Randy Arozarena managed to put us on the board with a lovely homer in the second inning. Luke Raley then showed his power with another homer in the fourth. Julio Rodríguez kept the spirit alive with a thrilling triple in the fifth inning, and Jorge Polanco brought him home with a crucial single. These efforts trimmed the gap slightly, but the Tigers kept their lead en route to an 8-4 lead by the end of the fifth.

Final Push Falls Short

As we entered the 9th inning down 9-4, hope flickered when Julio Rodríguez singled, and Cal Raleigh crushed a homer, bringing us to 9-6. But despite our bats fighting back valiantly, it wasn't enough to overcome the Tigers' initial lead. Our Mariners fought hard, and though we fell short, their resilience shows promise. Keep your heads up, fellow Mariners supporters—this team has heart and the season's far from over! ⚾💪
