A Promising Start
The game started with a blast, thanks to a magnificent homer by our own Ketel Marte, who sent one flying 420 feet to left center in the bottom of the 1st inning, putting the D-backs on the board!
It really set the tone early, and we all had high hopes for maintaining that lead. Tough Midgame Battle
As we moved through the middle innings, our boys held the Astros scoreless with some solid defense. However, the 6th inning proved to be a rough patch. An error by Geraldo Perdomo and a couple of wild pitches allowed the Astros to get on the board and then bring the game to a lead of 2-1. It felt like the momentum was starting to shift, but our spirits remained high!A Nail-Biting Finish
Going into the bottom of the 8th, trailing 3-1, our D-backs clawed back! Corbin Carroll doubled to bring in Perdomo, followed by a clutch single from Josh Naylor, tying up the score 3-3. It was anyone's game heading into the 9th, but unfortunately, the Astros managed to squeak by with one more run. Despite a valiant effort from Marte and the rest of the squad in the bottom of the 9th, we couldn't quite rally past Josh Hader closing for the Astros, and the game ended with a tough 4-3 loss.Heads up, Diamondbacks fans! Tomorrow's another day, and we will rise again!
