Tough Day for the Braves
Well, Braves fans, it was a rough match for us today as we faced the Houston Astros, ultimately falling with a final score of 11-3. It was a tough day at Truist Park, but there were some silver linings to hold onto as we look ahead. Let's dive into the recap.
Early Struggles
From the very beginning, the opposition managed to find their stride. In the top of the 3rd inning, Zachary Cole launched one deep for a two-run homer, and unfortunately, we couldn't muster an effective response. By the end of the 4th inning, the Astros extended their lead to 4-0, while our bats remained silent. It was a frustrating start for our Braves hitters, as ball after ball found its way into the opponent's gloves.
Late-Inning Highlights
Despite being down, there were a few moments that got the Braves fans on their feet. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Ronald Acuña Jr. gave us a glimmer of hope with a 375-foot solo home run - what a shot! Later, in the 8th inning, Eli White stepped up and delivered a two-run homer to left center, scoring Jurickson Profar and himself. Those were definitely the highlights for us today, and we'll need more of those electrifying moments as the season progresses.
Looking Ahead
Today’s game also highlighted some areas we need to work on, both offensively and defensively, as the Astros kept the pressure on throughout the innings.
