Tough Day in Baltimore

Oh, Orioles fans, this was a tough one. The Astros came to Baltimore and showed us why they are among the league's top teams, handing us a 7-2 defeat. The game kicked off with a rocky start as Christian Walker blasted a two-run homer in the first to give the Astros an early lead. The Astros' bats were hot, and we found ourselves struggling to keep up.

Beavers' Bright Spot

Despite the defeat, we had some bright moments. ❤️‍🔥 Dylan Beavers stepped up and slammed a solo homer in the second inning, our only home run of the game. This gave us a glimmer of hope, narrowing the score to 4-1. Beavers continues to show his power at the plate, and we hope to see more of that in future games.

Midgame Struggles

The Astros extended their lead in the third inning with Yainer Diaz hitting a two-run homer, making it 7-1. Our bullpen was put to the test, with Hiraldo and Wolfram coming in to relieve, though the damage was already done. Midway through the game, it was evident our bats needed some fire, but we couldn't muster a rally to overcome the Astros' lead.

A Glimpse of Hope

Coby Mayo and Cowser tried to ignite a comeback, with Mayo singling in the 6th and Basallo advancing on the bases. Beavers helped add another run with a fielder's choice, but it was all we could squeeze out against the Astros' firm defense 😓.

Final Thoughts

The Orioles' effort just wasn't enough today against a formidable opponent. Our pitching unit had moments of brilliance, and the lineup showed flashes of potential, but errors and missed opportunities made it a hard climb back. The team spirit remains strong, and the young talents are still developing their paths. Let's regroup and gear up for the next game. Go Orioles! 🧡⚾🖤
