A Night to Forget at Dodger Stadium
Well, Dodgers fans, this was a tough game to sit through.
A Rocky Start for Rojas and Company
It all started in the first inning with the Astros putting up two quick runs. Miguel Rojas took the mound for our Dodgers but struggled to keep the Astros at bay. A homer by Isaac Paredes and a couple of hits allowed the Astros to go up early. Shohei Ohtani, our designated hitter, gave us hope with a walk, but we weren't able to capitalize.
A Glimmer of Hope from Smith
In the bottom of the second, Will Smith gave us Dodgers fans something to cheer about with a solo homer to left-center, making it 1-2, bringing us back into the game, albeit briefly. His shot was a beauty, sailing 395 feet, reminding us why he's one of our favorites.
The Astros' Offensive Explosion
By the third inning, things started to unravel. Jose Altuve and Christian Walker hit monstrous homers, leading to a four-run rally. The Astros' offense just wouldn’t quit, scoring in every inning except for the fourth. Altuve's second homer was a three-run bomb in the 6th that essentially put the game out of reach.Missed Opportunities and Costly Errors
It was a game full of missed opportunities and unfortunate errors for us. The top of the 6th was brutal; the Astros put up a seven-run inning. The Astros' final tally came from a sacrifice fly by Yainer Diaz in the seventh. We had some chances but weren’t able to capitalize with runners in scoring positions.Looking Ahead
This was just one of those nights that we'd like to forget, but it's important to keep our heads up. We've seen our Dodgers bounce back from tough losses before, and I'm confident we'll see our resilience in the upcoming games!
