Tough Start for the Astros
The game kicked off on a challenging note for our Houston Astros. The first inning saw Jeremy Peña and Jose Altuve both being retired, with Isaac Paredes managing to secure a walk. Unfortunately, Christian Walker flied out, leaving us scoreless. On the other side, the Brewers came out swinging as Rhys Hoskins and Jake Bauers drove in four runs. Hoskins doubled to score Brice Turang and William Contreras, followed by Bauers' two-run shot putting us in a 0-4 hole.
Fighting Spirit On Display
As we moved through the innings, the Astros' bats were dampened by the Brewers' strong pitching. It wasn't until the 7th inning that we saw a glimmer of hope. Yainer Diaz and Jake Meyers both singled, setting the stage for Brendan Rodgers to hit a crucial three-run homer, narrowing the gap to 3-4! That swing brought the energy back and showed the fighting spirit of our Astros.

Close But Not Quite There
Heading into the final innings, we had multiple opportunities. In the 8th inning, Jose Altuve walked but was unfortunately caught in a fielder's choice. With Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker reaching base, the potential was there, but we couldn't get another run across. In the 9th, despite our best efforts with Meyers and Rodgers, we came up short as the Brewers' bullpen shut us down, finalizing the score at 3-4. It's one of those days where we ended up just a run shy despite the late-game push! Let's take the positives from this outing and come back stronger.
