Tough Loss in Extra Innings
Ahh, fellow Yankees fans, what a heartbreaker we had today at the stadium
Slow Start but a Worthy Fight
The game began with the Astros drawing first blood courtesy of a homer by Jose Altuve in the top of the 1st, bringing in two runs early. Our bats were quiet through the first five innings, unable to figure out their pitching. However, in the 6th inning, we finally started gaining momentum. A big shoutout to Ben Rice whose single brought Ryan McMahon home. Then, Aaron Judge came in clutch and knocked a single to center, tying the game at 2!
Extra Innings Drama
Both teams remained neck and neck, forcing the game into extra innings. But the 10th inning was where it unraveled for us. Carlos Correa and Taylor Trammell delivered key hits that put the Astros ahead, scoring three runs. Our Anthony Volpe managed to bring in a run in the bottom of the 10th, giving us a glimmer of hope. With Giancarlo Stanton drawing a walk, the base paths had potential. Yet, despite Jose Caballero's speed and shift, we just couldn't piece together the comeback we needed. Trent Grisham lined out to center, sealing the game at a 5-3 loss.Looking Ahead
Today's game showed we have the heart and the talent, but consistency is key. Let's hope our guys regroup and show the rest of the league we’re made of stronger stuff. Keep your heads up, Yankees fans; this one's a tough pill to swallow, but there's always the next game. Let's go Yankees!
