Astros Start Strong with Jose Altuve Homer
The game began with a bang for the Astros as Jose Altuve hammered a 439-feet homer to left, putting us ahead right off the bat! It was the boost we needed, and the boys looked ready to tackle whatever the Athletics had in store for us.
Solid Defense Keeps Us in the Game
Throughout the early innings, our pitching and defense were stellar. Jake Meyers and Cam Smith were sharp with their plays, and Victor Caratini kept things under control behind the plate. Even when we hit a few rough patches, like some unfortunate double plays, we stayed in the fight.
Tough Breaks in the Fifth and Ninth
Unfortunately, we hit a glitch in the bottom of the 5th when JJ Bleday homered, leveling the score. Despite our best efforts to regain the lead, the Athletics managed to shut us down. The real heartbreak came in the 9th when Nick Kurtz hit a two-run homer, sealing our fate. A disappointing end for sure, but we’re proud of how our team battled it out! We’ll bring the fire next game.
Let's rally and come back stronger!
