Tough Loss for the Astros in Seattle
Hey everyone, it's been a tough night at T-Mobile Park as our Houston Astros fell to the Seattle Mariners with a final score of 6-4. While there were some bright spots, it just wasn't enough to clinch the win. Here's a breakdown of the game.Early Struggles
Our offense struggled early in the game. In the first inning, Jose Altuve fouled out and Alex Bregman grounded out before Yordan Alvarez managed to get a single. Unfortunately, Yainer Diaz couldn't keep the momentum going and grounded out. The Mariners struck first blood in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Dylan Moore's triple brought in 2 runs.Yordan Alvarez Shines
Yordan Alvarez gave us some hope in the 4th inning with a solo homer to right, cutting the Mariners' lead to 2-1. But the Mariners answered right back with a homer from Jorge Polanco, extending their lead to 3-1. Despite a promising start in the 6th inning with Mauricio Dubón doubling and Altuve reaching base, we couldn't capitalize when Alex Bregman grounded into a double play.Late Inning Drama
The 6th inning was a nightmare as Luke Raley's three-run homer widened the Mariners' lead to 6-2. But we didn't give up! Jeremy Peña homered to left-center in the 7th inning and Alvarez continued to perform, scoring on Chas McCormick's single in the 8th, setting the score at a more respectable 6-4.Ninth Inning Heartbreak
The 9th inning was our last chance, but we couldn't put anything together as Jake Meyers, Trey Cabbage, and pinch hitter Joey Loperfido all struck out.Final Thoughts
Tough game, Astros fans, but let's keep our heads up! There were some standout performances and it's clear that Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Peña are in great form. Let's come back stronger in the next game! Go Astros!Scoreboard for Astros @ Mariners (July 21st, 2024)
