Tough Night in St. Louis

Hey fellow Cards fans, tonight was a bit of a rollercoaster and not the ending we hoped for. The Astros took this one with an 11-6 victory over our beloved St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. It was a game of twists and turns, but let's break it down together. ⚾

Early Game Highlights

The game started off with both teams delivering solid defensive plays. Kudos to our pitcher Roby for getting us through the early innings without letting any runs in. The highlight of the early innings came in the bottom of the 4th when Victor Scott II came through with a clutch single that drove in two runs, putting us ahead 2-0. Then, in the 5th inning, JJ Wetherholt launched a magnificent homerun to left center, scoring three runs to give us a 5-4 lead! 🎉

Astros Fight Back

Unfortunately, the Astros responded fiercely in the 6th and 7th innings, scoring seven unanswered runs. Despite our reliever Granillo's efforts on the mound, the plays just didn't go our way. A few errors and a couple of big hits from the Astros lineup pulled them forward, creating a gap which was tough to bridge.

Late-Inning Efforts

In the bottom of the 9th, Ryan Yeager showed tenacity with a solo homer to left center. However, it wasn't enough to muster a full comeback against the Astros' sturdy bullpen. The final score came to 11-6 in favor of the Astros.

It's been a rough night, but tomorrow is another day for our Cards to shine. Let's stay proud and support our team no matter what! Let's go Cardinals! ❤️⚾
