Taking Control Early
What a thrilling game, Astros fans!
The matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals started off strong for us as, in the top of the 2nd inning, Jon Singleton reached on an infield single, paving the way for some fireworks. Brendan Rodgers joined him on base with a single to left, setting up Chas McCormick to deliver a monstrous 397-foot homer to left-center, bringing in Singleton and Rodgers for a hefty 3-0 lead! 
Jeremy Pena kept the momentum going with a double, and shortly after, Isaac Paredes singled to left, bringing Pena home for another run. Way to go, 'Stros! (End of 2nd: Cardinals 1, Astros 4)Adding Insurance Runs
The excitement didn't stop there! In the top of the 5th, Jeremy Pena blasted another homer, this time a jaw-dropping 424-footer to center field, further extending our lead to 5-1. Our bullpen was rock solid, with expert relief pitching keeping the Cardinals at bay despite their efforts to close the gap with a 2-run homer by Vilade in the bottom of the 5th. As the game progressed, both teams showcased their defensive skills, with the Cardinals unable to capitalize on baserunners in the later innings. Our pitchers, Beeks and King, were particularly clutch, maintaining the intensity right through to the bottom of the 9th. Ryan Vilade's strikeout complemented by strong defensive play ensured we shut down any chance of a Cardinals comeback, sealing a 5-3 victory. Let's keep this momentum, Astros fans!
