Tough Loss for the Rangers Against the Astros
Tonight's game against the Houston Astros was a tough one, Rangers fans . The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Astros, despite a late rally in the bottom of the 9th. Let's break down the game inning by inning.Quiet Start for Both Teams
The first few innings were a pitcher's duel with both teams going scoreless. In the top of the first, Jose Altuve grounded out, Alex Bregman hit a double but was stranded on third as Yordan Alvarez and Yainer Diaz couldn't drive him in. Rangers had a similar fate in the bottom half; Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, and Josh Smith all went down quickly .Astros Strike First
It wasn't until the top of the 4th inning that the scoreboard saw some action. Jake Meyers singled to drive in Jeremy Peña, giving the Astros a 1-0 lead. Our boys tried to respond, but it was another 1-2-3 inning .Astros Extend the Lead
In the 6th inning, Meyers came through again with another RBI single, scoring Peña and making it a 2-0 game. We had a chance in the bottom half when Jonah Heim reached first on a throwing error, but the following double play killed that momentum .Not Over Yet!
The Astros tried to put the game out of reach in the 9th inning with a two-run homer by Alvarez, extending their lead to 4-0. But our Rangers never give up! In the bottom of the 9th, Corey Seager blasted a 2-run homer to right-center, bringing in Smith and giving us life! However, Josh Hader came in for the save, and we couldn't muster any more runs.
