Exciting Start for the White Sox
The White Sox got off to a cracking start at home against the Royals. With the game scoreless in the first inning, Mike Tauchman showcased his patience at the plate by drawing a walk. Though both Chase Meidroth and Andrew Benintendi couldn't capitalize initially, Miguel Vargas came through in a big way. His 372-foot homerun to left not only brought Tauchman home but also gave us a much-needed 2-0 lead.

The Royals Battle Back
The Royals weren't lying down for long. They tied it up in the fourth inning when Salvador Perez hit a monster homer to left center, scoring Vinnie Pasquantino. Our reliever Alexander did his best to limit further damage, but it was a tense moment for sure. After a few innings of dueling defenses, the Royals found their groove in the seventh and ninth innings, with Jonathan India and Bobby Witt Jr. making stark contributions with their bats. The Royals extended their lead to 7-2 by the top of the ninth.
A Noble Fight, But Just Short
It was a valiant effort from our boys in the bottom of the ninth. Things looked promising when Mike Tauchman walked and made it to second on a wild pitch. Singles by Chase Meidroth and Andrew Benintendi loaded the bases. A walk to Miguel Vargas and a clutch single by Edgar Quero brought in three runs, narrowing the gap significantly. Luis Robert Jr. drove in another run on a fielder’s choice, making it 5-7. Despite this thrilling rally, we couldn't quite push past Carlos Estevez and the Royals' bullpen. We fell short, but what a fight it was!

This game showed we're capable of dramatic comebacks, and there's always promise when our hitters find their stride. Next time, we'll aim to finish on top—but it’s always great to see the Sox give it their all!
