Tough Loss for the Guardians

What a nail-biter we had today at Progressive Field, folks! ⚾️ Despite a valiant effort by our Cleveland Guardians, we fell short to the Kansas City Royals with a tight final score of 4-3. It was a game teeming with potential, and though the outcome wasn't what we hoped for, there were still some thrilling plays from our team.

The Home Run Highlight

Our very own Kyle Manzardo gave us an impressive highlight to cheer for early in the game. After Steven Kwan led off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch, George Valera walked, setting the stage for Manzardo. With two outs in the first inning, Manzardo blasted a 432-foot homer to right field, bringing in two runs and putting us ahead 2-1. Talk about starting with a bang! 💥

Pitching and Defense

Our pitchers showed some solid efforts throughout the game. Festa and Herrin pitched in to keep the Royals bats at bay for some time. However, back-to-back plays in the 7th inning turned the tide. A throwing error allowed the game-tying run, and the Royals managed to sneak in one more to take the lead. Despite a relentless effort from Jose Ramirez with his late-game double, and Bo Naylor's contribution bringing in Angel Martinez during the 4th inning, it wasn't quite enough to turn the game back in our favor.

Although we didn't get the result we wanted, there were flashes of brilliance and grit from our Guardians, and we'll bounce back stronger. Hang in there, Cleveland fans—there's plenty of exciting baseball yet to come! 🎉
