A Strong Start for the Royals
The Kansas City Royals started off with a bang tonight against the Cleveland Guardians. In the top of the first inning, Mike Yastrzemski showed patience at the plate, drawing a walk, which was followed by an incredible 398-foot homer by Vinnie Pasquantino! This powerful swing brought us two runs on the scoreboard right from the start, boosting our spirits. Although the inning ended with a couple of fly-outs and a walk, it was a promising start for our Royals!

Holding the Lead... Until the 8th
Our pitcher was on fire for the majority of the game, keeping the Guardians scoreless through three innings. Meanwhile, we had Mike Yastrzemski shining again with a double in the third inning, though we couldn't quite capitalize on that. We held a strong defense until the fourth inning when Cleveland managed to get one run across after a groundout by Jose Ramirez scored Steven Kwan. Despite that, we kept them at bay and maintained our 2-1 lead through the eighth inning.A Heartbreaking 9th Inning
The eighth inning proved to be a turning point in the game. Bo Naylor got on base with a single, and then CJ Kayfus hit a crushing home run to center, giving the Guardians a 3-2 lead. The Royals fought hard in the ninth inning, with Jonathan India getting on base after being hit by a pitch. Tyler Tolbert came in as a pinch runner, but despite our best efforts, including a pinch-hit attempt by Nick Loftin, we couldn't find a way to bring home the tying run. The final attempt by Yastrzemski flying out to right marked the end of the game.
While the Royals didn't come away with a win tonight, we saw flashes of brilliance. Let's hope they can bounce back and secure a win in the next game. Go Royals!
