Tough Start in the Second Inning

It was a rough day for us Rockies fans 🏔️ as we watched the Kansas City Royals storm through Coors Field to claim a decisive 10-2 victory. The game began on a hopeful note, with our pitcher shutting down the first inning without allowing a single run. But things quickly unraveled in the top of the second inning. After Harold Castro was hit by a pitch, a sequence of hits and strategic plays allowed the Royals to score a whopping eight runs 💥 against us. Our hearts sank as Hunter Renfroe delivered a crushing double, bringing in three runs all at once.

Rockies Fight Back but Fall Short

Despite the tough start, there were moments when our Rockies showed some fight. Jacob Stallings and Sean Bouchard brought in our only runs of the day in the third and fourth innings. I must say, it was exhilarating to see Bouchard crush that homer out to left field for 414 feet 🚀! These were small victories, and they lifted our spirits, if only for a bit. But, unfortunately, we couldn't maintain the offensive momentum we needed to close the significant gap.

Pitching Woes Continue

Our pitching staff had a day they might want to forget. After the second inning mishap, the Royals weren’t totally finished. Hunter Renfroe continued to haunt us by hitting a triple in the sixth inning that brought two more runs home. Despite the impressive plays from some of our players like Brenton Doyle, who displayed phenomenal speed with a stolen base, it just wasn't enough to contend with Kansas City's explosive offense. As a Rockies fan, I'm still holding out hope for the next matchup. We'll regroup, learn, and come back stronger. Until then, onto the next one! 🤞⚾
