A Tough Day for the Royals
Well, Royals fans, it was a tough outing in Detroit as we came face to face with a determined Tigers team. Despite a promising start for us with Jonathan India singling and Bobby Witt Jr. walking in the first inning, we couldn't seem to capitalize on our opportunities. We left runners on base in multiple innings and struggled to convert those chances into runs.
Tigers Take Charge
Detroit made their move in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Spencer Torkelson got the Tigers on the board with a nice double, bringing in two runs. They followed it up with Riley Greene batting in another to make the score 3-0. Our pitching staff, although competitive, just couldn't find a way out of the inning before the damage was done. Detroit kept applying pressure with timely hits and solid execution.
A Glimmer of Hope
Our boys showed a flash of resilience in the 8th inning. Salvador Perez got a walk and Michael Massey kept the momentum with a single. Maikel Garcia finally broke the shutout with a single that brought Perez home, putting us on the board. However, the Tigers quickly extinguished our rally with a double play, and the Royals couldn't close the gap any further.Final Score: Tigers 6, Royals 1.

Looking Ahead
Despite today's result, there were positives to take away. Massey had a solid game with a couple of hits, and Garcia got in on the action with an RBI. It was another learning experience for our young roster, and we know they'll be itching to bounce back next game. Let's keep supporting our boys with Royal pride as they continue to develop and fight their way through the season.
