The Royals Start Strong
Well, fellow Royals fans, today was definitely a rollercoaster game for us!
Troubles on the Mound
Things began to unravel in the bottom of the 2nd when Tigers' Spencer Torkelson scored after a single from Tomas Nido, tying the game at 1-1. Our pitching struggled to contain the Tiger bats in the 4th inning when Andy Ibañez hit a solo homer, putting the Tigers ahead 2-1. By the end of the 5th, our pitcher relief couldn't stem the tide as the Tigers added three more runs to make it 5-1. It was tough seeing our boys unable to hold back the Tigers’ offense as the game slipped away inning by inning.
Rays of Hope but Falling Short
Heading into the 9th inning, down 7-1, hope flickered when Witt Jr. managed to get on base and Pasquantino promptly singled to center, allowing Witt Jr. to score. Thanks to a wild pitch and catcher's interference, the bases were loaded, allowing Michael Massey to walk and bring Pasquantino home, narrowing the gap to 7-3. Unfortunately, our efforts to rally fell short, with Cavan Biggio and Drew Waters unable to capitalize further. The final score stood at 7-3 in favor of the Tigers. It's always tough to see a loss, but let's not lose heart, Royals fans! We've got plucky hitters and those moments of magic that can turn the next game's tide. Keep believing, and we'll keep roaring.
