Getting Things Started
The action started in the second inning when Maikel Garcia got on base with a single, and Hunter Renfroe followed up with another single, moving Garcia to third. Vinnie Pasquantino then knocked a single to center field, bringing Garcia home for the first run of the game
Tigers Fight Back
The Tigers came back in the fifth inning. Kerry Carpenter singled to score Colt Keith, and Zach McKinstry added another RBI to tie the game at 2-2. The Tigers then took the lead in the seventh inning, with McKinstry again bringing in the run that made it 3-2 in their favor. But our Royals did not back down!Regaining Control
The eighth inning was crucial when Bobby Witt Jr. reached second on a throwing error by the Tigers' third baseman Javier Báez. Following this, Mark Canha hit a single to center, allowing Witt to come home and level the score at 3-3.Victory in Extras!
In the top of the 10th, with Drew Waters advanced to third, Bobby Witt Jr. came through once again with a vital sacrifice fly to left that allowed Waters to score and give us the lead 4-3!
