Astros' Comeback Victory
Wow, what a game! The Houston Astros pulled off an incredible comeback to defeat the Kansas City Royals 4-3! It was a nail-biter till the end, but our boys in orange and blue showed why they’re a force to be reckoned with.
Early Setbacks
Things didn’t start off as planned, with the Royals getting an early lead. In the 2nd inning, despite two quick outs, Maikel Garcia hit a solo homer to left, and shortly after Jonathan India doubled to send Hunter Renfroe home. We were down 2-0, and it seemed like the Royals were setting the tone. Thankfully, the top of our lineup limited more damage.Paredes Ignites the Comeback
Our offense looked a bit sluggish initially, with hits hard to come by. However, in the bottom of the 4th, Isaac Paredes blasted a homer to left to get us on the board!
That ignited our momentum, and you could feel the shift beginning at Minute Maid Park.Peña and Dubón Deliver
Moving into the 6th inning, Mauricio Dubón doubled to eventually score on a clutch double by Jeremy Peña, making it a 3-2 game. The tension was palpable, the crowd could sense a win in the making. And then came the decisive bottom of the 8th! Dubón tied it up with a double that brought in Chas McCormick, and Peña, on fire, singled to score Dubón and get us the lead at 4-3!
Closing It Out
Of course, it wouldn't be a thrilling game without some defensive highlights. Josh Hader came in to close and, despite a walk and stolen base by Bobby Witt Jr., he got the final out with a beautiful line drive catch by our center fielder. Huge applause to Zach Dezenzo and Jake Meyers for some solid defense during the last frames.What a game from our Houston Astros!
