The Heroics of the 9th Inning
What a finish, Twins fans!
Initial Struggle and Resilient Comeback
It was a tough start as the Royals took an early lead in the top of the 1st after Cavan Biggio doubled, bringing Jonathan India home. The Twins remained scoreless until the bottom of the 2nd when Carlos Correa launched an incredible solo homer to center, traveling 429 feet, to tie the game 1-1.
Holding the Line
Both teams displayed solid defense and pitching prowess, holding each other scoreless after the 2nd inning. Pablo López did a stellar job on the mound until the 6th inning, with Stewart, Varland, Jax, and Sands following up to keep the Royals at bay. Our pitching squad was in top form today, making crucial plays and preventing Kansas City from regaining the lead.
Final Push to Glory
As we went into the bottom of the 9th tied at one apiece, the tension was palpable. Carlos Correa managed a key infield single, setting the stage for Ty France, who delivered the moment of truth—a towering home run to left center! This electrifying finish put the game away, ensuring a sweet victory for our Twins.
It's days like these that make being a Twins fan so rewarding. Let's keep this momentum going! Go Twins!
