Then, Brett Baty grounded out but not without bringing Marte home, giving us the lead. Adding to that, DJ Stewart doubled to right, scoring Baty. That put us up 3-1 at the end of the first inning, and hope was in the air!

Unfortunately, baseball is a game of momentum, and the Royals didn't wait long to seize theirs back. The second inning saw the Royals rallying back to a lead, capped off by a Salvador Perez single that sent two runners home, making it 4-3 for the Royals. They continued to build on their lead throughout the middle innings, including a significant third inning where Perez hit a homer driving in two more runs.
