Bitter Late-Inning Defeat
Ah, Royals fans, we almost had it!
Really Strong Start for the Royals
Throughout the first five innings, Bobby Witt Jr. and Vinnie Pasquantino kept the momentum going. With strategic plays from Salvador Perez and a vital RBI from Jac Caglianone, we managed to build a solid 3-0 lead. Our pitchers were holding it down well. It was all roses as Cardinals batters struggled to crack our defense.Heartbreaking Ending
But as we know, baseball can be a heartbreaker. The Cardinals began their comeback in the seventh inning. Ivan Herrera's monster 425-foot homer in the eighth brought them closer. Heading into the tenth with us leading 5-4, Lars Nootbaar and Willson Contreras found a way to bring the Cardinals back into the game. Despite leading going into the bottom of the tenth, the Cardinals eked out the win with a walk-off single from Contreras. What a stinger!Although the loss stings, let’s keep our spirits high, Royals fans. We saw some promising talent at play today, and there's always the next game to bounce back!
