Another Tough Loss for the Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks faced off against the Los Angeles Angels, and despite our best efforts, we fell short with a final score of 8-3. The game started with the Angels getting on the board early, and unfortunately, we couldn't mount a comeback.First Half Struggles
The Angels took an early lead in the 1st inning when Nolan Schanuel singled and eventually scored thanks to a double by Kevin Pillar. Despite a hit by Corbin Carroll in the bottom half, we couldn't capitalize as Ketel Marte grounded into a double play. The second inning saw some fireworks from the Angels' Zach Neto, who homered to extend their lead to 2-0. Meanwhile, our bats were silent, and we went down in order.
Tough 4th Inning
The Angels extended their lead significantly in the 4th inning. Jo Adell hit a three-run homer, and Luis Rengifo added an RBI single to make it 7-0. We struggled to respond, as our hitters couldn't find holes in the Angels' defense.Late Sparks But Not Enough
We finally got on the board in the bottom of the 8th inning with a towering solo homer by Christian Walker. Ketel Marte added a two-run shot in the 9th inning, bringing our total to 3 runs. Randal Grichuk came in as a pinch-hitter but grounded out, and Walker struck out looking to end the game.Despite the tough loss, there were some positives to take away. Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte showed their ability to get on base, and our bullpen managed to keep the Angels' bats quiet in the later innings. Here's hoping for a better result next game. Go D-backs!
