Tough Start, But We Fought Back

Well, Red Sox Nation, it was a shaky start for the boys in Fenway as the Angels came out swinging hard in the top of the first. Zach Neto kicked things off with a solo homer to left-center, and it snowballed from there. Our very own Abraham Toro had a fielding error that let Jorge Soler reach base safely, setting up Mike Trout for a massive three-run homer to put the Angels ahead 5-0. Jo Adell added salt to the wound with another homer, bringing the score to 6-0. Not the start we wanted, but there was still plenty of baseball to play. 🎗️

Mid-Game Comeback Spark ⚾

After a shaky first, we began to steady the ship. It wasn't until the third inning that we saw some action from our lineup, with Jarren Duran hitting a double to center followed by a double from Rafael Devers, bringing Duran home. Our bats truly woke up in the fifth inning! A string of doubles from Carlos Narváez and Romy González helped us close the gap to 5-6, scoring four runs in that inning. Thanks to some clutch hitting, it felt like we had the Angels on the ropes.

A Nail-Biting Finish 🥲

While the Angels managed to extend their lead slightly with another homer from Jo Adell in the sixth, we kept the pressure on. Ceddanne Rafaela gave us a huge boost with a solo homer in the eighth, trimming the deficit to one run. Our boys fought hard to the very end, but the heroic comeback just fell short in the ninth inning as Wilyer Abreu, hitting for Rob Refsnyder, struck out swinging.

Despite the 6-7 loss, there were some real highlights with our bats today, including a standout performance by Jarren Duran, who proved he’s a talent to watch. We'll get 'em next time, folks! Let’s keep the faith and look forward to the next matchup. Go Sox! 🍀
