Early Struggles
The game began with both teams playing solid defense, keeping the score level. In the first inning, our lineup struggled to make an impact. Zach Neto and Taylor Ward both grounded out, while Nolan Schanuel managed to earn a walk. Sadly, Ward's attempt ended with a double play. The Guardians also showed alarmingly good defense, not allowing us any chance to capitalize.Guardians Take the Lead
Things started tilting in Cleveland’s favor in the third inning. They broke the scoring impasse when Gabriel Arias reached home on a sac fly by Steven Kwan, giving them a 1-0 lead. In the fourth inning, Jose Ramirez further extended their lead with a homer, and before we knew it, it was 4-0 after a few more knocks and a couple more errors on our end.A Rally in the 7th Inning
Our Angels didn't give up, and the seventh inning brought some excitement back into the game. After Logan O'Hoppe reached first on a fielding error, Jo Adell was hit by a pitch. Jumping on the opportunity, Luis Rengifo stepped up with a crucial single, allowing O'Hoppe to score. Then, came the moment we all waited for - Mike Trout pinch-hitting and delivering an RBI single to bring the Angels back to 4-2!Falling Short
Despite our hopes, the late momentum wasn't enough to turn the game around. The Guardians kept a tight defense, and in the top of the ninth, their closer Emmanuel Clase sealed their victory by shutting down our final batters.
