A Tough Night for the Tigers
Hey Tigers fans, it's Stuart here with a recap of tonight's game. Unfortunately, our Tigers faced a tough one against the Los Angeles Angels, falling 3-0. Despite a few glimmers of hope, we just couldn’t get the bats going tonight.Pitching Duel Early On
The game started as a pitching duel, with both teams not giving an inch in the first two innings. Taylor Ward singled in the first but was caught in a fielder's choice, and Zach McKinstry got a double in the third, but we couldn't capitalize on it. Our pitchers did a great job keeping us in the game early.Angels Score First
In the fourth inning, Anthony Rendon walked and was brought home by Mickey Moniak’s double to make it 1-0. Moniak tried to stretch it to a triple but was caught. This was the first crack in our armor, and unfortunately, it wouldn’t be the last.Neto Homers
The 5th inning was particularly painful as Zach Neto hit a two-run homer, scoring Niko Kavadas as well, extending the Angels' lead to 3-0. This put us in a deeper hole, and despite some good moments, we couldn't claw our way back.Close But No Cigar
In the bottom of the 6th, a single from Meadows and another by Carpenter got us hopeful, with Meadows reaching third. However, our luck ran out as Riley Greene flied out and Jace Jung grounded into a double play, ending our threat.Late Inning Frustrations
The 8th inning saw some more action, with Andy Ibáñez walking and Matt Vierling singling to center, but once again, we couldn't convert. Torkelson struck out swinging to end our hopes for a rally.Final Attempt
Zach McKinstry singled to start the 9th, giving us a glimmer of hope. But a strikeout from Trey Sweeney, a foul out from Dillon Dingler, and a fielder's choice groundout from Meadows ended the game at 3-0 in favor of the Angels.Keeping the Faith
It's one of those nights, Tigers fans. Let’s keep our heads up and support our boys. We'll get them next time. Keep the faith and roar on!Let's hope for a better result in the next game! Go Tigers!
