A Shaky Start but Strong Defense
Greetings Astros Nation!
Keeping the Game Tight
The second inning was another display of solid defense from our Astros, as Jose Altuve and Yainer Diaz both contributed key plays to keep the score 0-0 through the top half. When it was our turn, Yordan Alvarez started with a single but unfortunately, we couldn’t capitalize and failed to put runs on the board. We tied things up in the third inning thanks to Jesus Sanchez’s hustle that brought home Peña for the game-tying run.
An Eventful Ninth Inning
With the game locked at 1-1 for most of the innings, our Astros kept it tight with solid plays, particularly in the outfield by Cam Smith and Mauricio Dubon, making crucial catches. As the game reached the ninth inning, the score was tied. Unfortunately, it was in the last frame that the Angels managed to break through our bullpen, scoring three runs that proved to be the difference. Our guys battled hard, though, with Sanchez walking in the bottom half to give us some hope, but ultimately fell short. Final score: Angels 4, Astros 1.
Despite the tough loss, shout out to our Astro bullpen, particularly Kimbrel and King, for their relentless effort! Let’s keep the spirits high; there's always the next game to bounce back stronger!
