The game started off at a slow pace with neither team scoring in the first and second innings. Our pitcher kept their lineup quiet and our defense was spot on. Michael Massey did start the game off with a single, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize on it.Breaking Through in the 3rd and 4th
In the third inning, Salvador Perez brought in our first run, scoring Michael Massey with a single to left. The fourth inning truly belonged to us as Paul DeJong slammed a 397-feet homer to left, bringing Adam Frazier home and putting us up 3-0!
Holding Our Ground in the Middle Innings
Our defense and pitching stood firm in the 5th and 6th innings, not letting the Angels score. We gave Paul DeJong another chance to shine with a double in the 6th, but couldn't bring him home. Still, the feel of the game was strong and optimistic.Bump in the 7th, but Immediate Recovery!
The Angels managed to score two runs in the 7th, closing the gap to 3-2. But we didn't let that deter us! Bobby Witt Jr. and Vinnie Pasquantino set the stage for Salvador Perez to double to left field, bringing both of them in and extending our lead to 5-2.
