Tough Start for the Twins
Hey Twins fans, the game against the Angels didn't go the way we'd hoped, with a final score of 6-2 in favor of the Angels. Things got off to a rough start for us right in the top of the 1st inning. Taylor Ward drew a walk and Zach Neto hit a ground-rule double to put runners on second and third. Nolan Schanuel then singled to bring both runners home. Despite a double play and ground-out that followed, the damage was done early with the Angels up 2-0.Quiet Bats in the First Half
The bottom of the 1st was uneventful for the Twins, with Carlos Santana, Ryan Jeffers, and Jose Miranda unable to spark anything. Score stayed stuck at 2-0 Angels. The second inning wasn't much better. Royce Lewis struck out swinging, Matt Wallner walked but Kyle Farmer grounded into a double play. We couldn't catch a break to get on base.A Ray of Hope
Things started to look up for us in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Michael Helman doubled to right, giving us some hope. Santana then singled to bring in Helman, making it 4-1. Finally, something to cheer for! However, we couldn't capitalize further, and the inning ended with the score still in the Angels' favor.Farmer's Firepower
We closed the gap a bit further in the bottom of the 4th inning when Kyle Farmer homered to left field, a towering 419-footer that made it 4-2! Unfortunately, that would be our final run of the game.Angels Pull Away
The Angels struck again in the 6th, with Niko Kavadas hitting a 364-foot homer that brought in Logan O'Hoppe. That pushed their lead to 6-2 and put a serious dent in our comeback hopes.Pitching Changes and Missed Opportunities
Our relief pitchers did their best, with Henriquez, Tonkin, and Blewett stepping in, but the damage was done. In the bottom of the 9th, we tried to mount a last-minute rally. Wallner walked, but that was followed by outs from Farmer and Helman, closing the game with a 6-2 Angels victory.Despite the loss, there are always silver linings and lessons to be learned. Let's keep our spirits high and look forward to the next game. Go Twins!
