Tough Start for the Halos
Well, Angels fans, it was a bit of a rocky night for us out there against the Mets.
A Flash of Hope with Trout's Homer
The second inning saw a glimmer of possibility as Taylor Ward and Jo Adell got on base, but unfortunately, the rally was halted without any runs. The bottom of the third inning was a tough one for our pitching staff, with Francisco Lindor's single and Pete Alonso's three-run homer extending the Mets' lead to 5-1. However, our very own Mike Trout did what he does best, launching a solo shot that soared 380 feet in the third inning.
Late Push Not Enough
The Angels tried to chip away at the deficit, especially during the 7th inning. Luis Rengifo and Chris Taylor combined to bring the score to 6-3. When Taylor doubled to right, our hearts leapt with hope as another run was driven in. Despite these efforts, the Mets' bullpen closed out the game effectively, denying us any further offensive success. With Nolan Schanuel and Mike Trout grounding out in the 9th inning, the game ended at a 6-3 loss. This loss may sting, but being an Angels fan means standing by our team through the ups and downs. We've got resilience and talent; let's rally behind our boys for the next game!
