Thrilling Start for the A's

What a strong start we had, fellow Oakland fans! Our beloved Brent Rooker brought the Coliseum to life with a massive 440-foot homer in the first inning, giving us a quick 2-0 lead. đź’Ą Jacob Wilson set the stage with a single, and with Tyler Soderstrom sacrificing his out, the chemistry looked spot on. The A's were off to a promising 3-0 lead by the end of the third inning, with Nick Kurtz adding to the scoreboard with a sac fly.

Momentum Shifts to Angels

Unfortunately, our momentum faced a setback in the fifth inning as the Angels began to close in, with Zach Neto bringing the score to a closer 3-2. Even though Rooker was thrown out at home in the fifth and narrowly missed extending our lead, Gio Urshela and Jhonny Pereda walked us to a 5-2 lead by the bottom of the fifth inning. We were cruising with a three-run advantage heading into the seventh.

Tough Ending for the A's

The seventh inning was quite the heartbreaker, as the Angels surged with a grand slam from Taylor Ward, giving them the lead at 6-5, followed by an Logan O'Hoppe homer pushing it to 7-5. We struggled to regain footing despite Luis UrĂas and Shea Langeliers stepping up to the plate later on. The Angels stretched the lead to 10-5 by the ninth inning, a tough pill to swallow as our lineup was quick to be retired in the final half.

Our team showed flashes of brilliance, undoubtedly. Let’s rally around these moments, fans! Keep your heads up and get ready for the next one. Go A's! 💚💛
