Tough Loss in Seattle But Bright Moments for the Angels
What a rollercoaster of emotions, Angels fans. Our boys battled it out against the Mariners up in Seattle, but unfortunately came up short with a final score of 3-5. There were some standout moments though, so let’s dive right in.
Early Fireworks from Jo Adell and Team Response
The game kicked off with little action for us in the first inning, with Mike Trout, Yoan Moncada, and Taylor Ward all being unable to connect solidly with the ball. It was the Mariners, unfortunately, who got on the board first, but our guys responded with spirit. In the top of the second, Jo Adell absolutely demolished a pitch for a 429-foot homer to center.
Pitching Challenges and Defensive Plays
Our pitchers had their hands full dealing with a relentless Mariners lineup. Starter Farris and reliever Silseth worked hard to contain the damage, but runs slipped by in the fifth inning as Josh Naylor roped a crucial single to push it to a 5-2 Mariners lead. Peralta came in and gave a solid outing to prevent any more runs in the sixth. There was another strong defensive frame in the seventh where Angels' fieldwork prevented the Mariners from extending their lead.Taylor Ward's Late Heroics
The eighth inning saw Chris Taylor taking over at third base, but the offensive spark came from Ward once again in the ninth with a beautiful 381-foot homer to left!
Keep your heads up, Angels fans! We have some positive takeaways and glimpses of brilliance that we can absolutely build on as the season progresses.

See you at the next game!
