A Memorable Win for the Cubs
What an exciting comeback victory for our beloved Chicago Cubs as they edged out the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-10 in a thrilling ten-inning game!
Scorching Offensive Start
The Cubs started with a bang in the bottom of the 1st inning. After a slightly shaky start in the top half, with the Dodgers taking a 3-0 lead off a home run from Tommy Edman, the Cubs came roaring back. Ian Happ started the rally with a double and was quickly brought home along with Kyle Tucker by a clutch Seiya Suzuki double. Dansby Swanson tripled to tie things up, and Pete Crow-Armstrong's double brought Swanson home to give us the lead. Miguel Amaya capped off the scoring spree, furthering our lead to 5-3. The roar from Wrigley was deafening!
Dodgers Push Back
The Dodgers weren’t to be taken lightly, as they narrowed the gap throughout the game. The 7th inning proved particularly challenging when the Dodgers took a 10-7 lead after capitalizing on a fielding error and some strong batting. But these Cubs weren’t going down easy.Final Rally
The magic truly happened in the later innings. Kyle Tucker brought the crowd to its feet with a two-run homer in the bottom of the 8th! Then, in the bottom of the 9th, down by one, Miguel Amaya displayed nerves of steel, belting a dramatic solo homer to center that sent the game into extras – talk about clutch!
Extra-Inning Drama
The top of the 10th was a nail-biter. Luke Hodge shut the Dodgers down, leaving the Cubs with a chance to seize victory. And who better than Ian Happ to end the night on a high? His single to right, bringing in pinch-runner Vidal Bruján, was the winning stroke! Game over - Cubs win 11-10!
This win was not just about the scoreline; it was a testament to the resilience and fighting spirit of this team. Way to go, Cubbies! Onto the next game with momentum on our side!
