The game kicked off strong for our Reds in the first when Gavin Lux doubled to left. Next, Elly De La Cruz brought him home with a single, giving the Reds the early lead 1-0. Dodgers’ slugger Freddie Freeman countered with a two-run homer in the 4th, momentarily tilting the score 1-2. But that didn’t falter our spirits!Game-Winning 8th Inning
The defining moment came in the 8th inning. With two outs, Austin Hays walked, Tyler Stephenson followed suit, and then the hero of the night, Spencer Steer, blasted a triple to center—sending both Hays and Stephenson home. Not satisfied with just a lead, Will Benson added insurance with an RBI single scoring Steer, ending the inning 5-2. What a sight to see!
Closing the Game
Credit to the Reds' bullpen for keeping things tight. After the offense lit up the 8th inning, Tony Santillan made sure to shut the door on the Dodgers in the 9th, capitalizing on impressive fielding and strategic pitching. No room for a Dodgers' comeback tonight!
