Rockies Fall to Dodgers in Challenging Game
Well, Rockies fans, today's game against the Dodgers definitely didn't go as we'd hoped, but there were still some glimpses of greatness. Despite the final score of 11-4 favoring Los Angeles, our boys showed resilience, and Brenton Doyle and Kyle Karros gave us something to cheer about!Dodgers Take Early Lead
The Dodgers started strong, scoring two runs in the first inning and seized control from there. In the second inning, Alex Call and Shohei Ohtani each blasted home runs to stretch the Dodgers lead to 4-0. Our Rockies struggled to get their offense going early in the game, unable to get on the board through the first three innings.Rockies Fights Back in the Fourth
In the bottom of the fourth inning, we finally saw some sparks fly for the Rockies! Brenton Doyle smashed a two-run homer to left center, bringing home Ezequiel Tovar and narrowing the Dodgers' lead to 7-2. This was a much-needed jolt for our side, and the crowd at Coors Field went wild!
Karros Keeps the Momentum
The sixth inning also saw a significant moment as Kyle Karros delivered a two-run homer, further cutting into the Dodgers' lead and bringing the score to 7-4. It's plays like these that keep us all hopeful and excited about the young talent on this team.
Dodgers Extend Their Lead Again
Unfortunately, the Dodgers responded with four more runs, two in the seventh and eighth, and the final blow in the ninth inning off a single by Will Smith, making it 11-4. Though the Rockies couldn't manage a comeback, the effort was commendable, and some of our younger players really stood out today.Looking Ahead
Even with today’s result, there’s reason for optimism. The Rockies are developing their roster and the sparks we saw from Doyle and Karros suggest promising times ahead.
