Tough Loss at Coors Field

Well Rockies fans, last night was certainly a rollercoaster 🎢. The Dodgers came into our house and took the game with a final score of 9-5. Let's break down the action.

Rough Start

The game started off with Shohei Ohtani and the boys getting on the board early. Teoscar Hernández doubled, driving in Freddie Freeman to put the Dodgers ahead 1-0. By the end of the 2nd inning, we were down 3-1 thanks to a solo homer by our catcher Jacob Stallings (426 feet to center!).

Strong Defensive Stand

Our defense managed to hold off the Dodgers in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings. Brenton Doyle and Michael Toglia made some great plays in the outfield, but we couldn't turn those stops into runs.

Middle Innings

Shohei Ohtani continued to be a thorn in our side, hitting a couple of doubles and getting on base multiple times. Justin Lawrence and Tyler Bird pitched valiantly, but the Dodgers added two more runs in the 7th inning, extending their lead to 5-1.

Love for Lawrence

Shoutout to Justin Lawrence who did his best to limit the damage when he came in during the 8th inning. Despite a shaky start, he closed it out by striking out Miguel Rojas.

A Fight Until the End!

We did see a late-game rally in the 9th. Greg Jones pinch-hit for Jacob Stallings and blasted a solo homer (419 feet to right). Michael Toglia doubled, followed by Elehuris Montero who drove in Toglia with a double of his own. Then, Hunter Goodman smashed a 2-run homer to left-center (392 feet) 💣!

Final Score: 9-5

Despite the late-game heroics, the deficit was just too large to overcome. The Dodgers took the win with a final score of 9-5. Hats off to our never-quit-attitude and the fans who stayed until the end. Keep your heads up, Rockies fans! We'll get 'em next time 🌟.

Next Game

We've got another game lined up tomorrow. Let's come out swinging and show them what we're made of! Go Rockies! 💪⚾
