Rough Start, But What a Comeback!
The game didn't start well for our boys. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Colorado's Michael Toglia hammered a homer to center field, bringing in McMahon and Stallings.
This put us in an early 0-3 hole. But hey, it's baseball - anything can happen!Ohtani's Magic in the 2nd Inning!
We quickly bounced back in the top of the 2nd inning.
Gavin Lux got on base with a single. With bases loaded, Shohei Ohtani delivered a clutch double to center, making it 3-3. Freddie Freeman then singled to bring Ohtani home, taking the lead 4-3. A beautiful rally to turn things around!Holding the Lead... Barely!
After some solid pitching and defense, it looked like we would carry the lead. In the top of the 5th, Heyward doubled to right, scoring Pages and Teoscar Hernandez to put us up 6-4. But the Rockies weren't done yet. In the bottom of the 7th, they tied it back up 6-6.
Heartbreak in the 9th Inning
With everything tied in the 9th, it was anybody's game. Unfortunately, the Rockies managed to pull off a win with Cave scoring on a sacrifice fly hit by Doyle. Final score: 6-7. Tough loss for us, my fellow Dodgers fans.
Final Thoughts
Despite the loss, we saw some great moments, especially from Ohtani and Freeman. We'll get 'em next time!
