A Gritty Effort by the Rockies, But the Dodgers Edge Out a Win
What a rollercoaster of a game, Rockies fans!
We saw some impressive hitting from our boys, but couldn't quite overcome the Dodgers. Despite the loss, the Rockies showed tremendous spirit and grit. Let's dive into the summary!Early Lead and Dodgers' Comeback
We started off strong, taking the lead right out of the gate.
Thanks to a cracking double by Michael Toglia that brought Hunter Goodman home, we managed to get on the scoreboard first! In the top of the fourth, however, the Dodgers rallied back. They pounced on fielding errors, scored with hits from Conforto (a homer) and Betts, and took the wind out of our sails, ending the inning at 2-6.Late-Inning Sparks
But fear not, our boys weren't done yet! Jordan Beck made sure to keep us in the game with a crucial RBI, and Thairo Estrada added another with a sacrifice fly. Showing the resilience of true Rockies, we launched an impressive rally in the eighth inning, closing the gap to 7-8 with a double by Beck that brought home two runs!
Close Call at the End
Going into the ninth, the Dodgers managed to slip one more run past us, making it 7-9. We had a golden opportunity with Ryan McMahon's bunt and single, but unfortunately, a double play closed out our chance for a comeback. The game ended with a respectable 7-9 score. Despite the loss, the Rockies displayed some fine pieces of play, and we've got a lot to be hopeful about as the season progresses!Rockies fans, let's keep our heads up and look forward to the next game!
