Rockies Fall to Dodgers in Tough Loss
Well, Rockies fans, that was a rough one. The Dodgers took us down 11-4 today. But let’s dig into the game and see where things went awry.Rockies off to a Rocky Start in the 1st Inning
We got off to a shaky start with the Dodgers jumping ahead early. After Gavin Lux singled, Teoscar Hernandez smacked a 445-foot homer to left, putting them up 2-0. Charlie Blackmon walked to lead off the bottom half, and Ezequiel Tovar tripled him home, but our bats couldn’t capitalize further. Score: 2-1, Dodgers.Dodgers Extend Their Lead
The 2nd inning didn’t get any better. Enrique Hernandez singled, and Andy Pages walked, setting the stage for Chris Taylor to drive Hernandez in with a single. Then a mix-up allowed Shohei Ohtani to advance all the way to third with a throwing error, scoring Taylor from home. Dodgers led 5-1 after two innings.Mid-Game Struggles Continue
The middle innings saw the Dodgers maintain control. Though Andy Pages and Ohtani each homered, bringing the score to 6-1, we weren't able to generate any offense. An error by Tommy Edman in the 5th allowed Cave to score, making it 6-2.Dodgers Keep Piling It On
In the 6th, Ohtani added to the Dodgers' tally with a three-run homer after a couple of wild pitches. Kiermaier doubled, and Lux walked, bringing the score up to 10-2 with a sacrifice fly.Rockies Attempt a Comeback
We showed some resilience in the latter innings. Brendan Rodgers doubled in the 6th and was brought home by Nolan Jones. In the 8th, Jones struck again, singling in Rodgers after he walked. But that was it for us offensively.Errant Plays Seal the Deal
Errors by Stallings and Edman continued to cost us. Kiermaier scored on an error in the 8th, padding the Dodgers' lead to 11-4. We had a chance when Blackmon walked in the 9th and Beck reached on an error, but it was too little, too late.Final Thoughts
Definitely a tough loss to swallow, Rockies Nation. The Dodgers showed why they’re a formidable lineup. Despite Ohtani's stellar performance and defensive errors on both sides, there were moments of encouragement, especially from Tovar and Jones. We've got to tighten up those mistakes and get the bats going again. Onto the next one, let's keep our heads up and look forward to a bounce-back!

Final Score: Dodgers 11, Rockies 4
Let's get them next time!
