Ohtani Sets the Tone Early
What a game, Royals fans! The night started off with a bit of a shocker as the Dodgers' superstar, Shohei Ohtani, hit a massive 429-foot homer in the very first inning, putting them up 1-0. But no worries—our boys in blue came back with a strong answer!Royals Fire Back
The bottom of the 1st inning was exciting! Maikel Garcia hustled for a double, and our own royal leader, Salvador Perez, brought Maikel home to tie the game, 1-1. Then in the 2nd inning, Kyle Isbel and Bobby Witt Jr. delivered with a clutch double and a two-run homer respectively, swinging the score in our favor at 4-3!
Back-and-Forth Battle
The lead didn’t last, unfortunately. Max Muncy hit a two-run bomb in the 2nd, and then Ohtani struck again with a triple that tied the game in the 5th, helping the Dodgers pull ahead, 5-4. Our bullpen did a great job after that, shutting the Dodgers down. Kudos to Zerpa, Clarke, and Erceg for keeping us in the game!
Final Push Comes Up Short
As we headed into the final innings, the tension was palpable. Salvador Perez fought to give us a chance in the 9th, loading the bases for a heart-pounding finish. Sadly, Jac Caglianone hit into a double play, ending our hopes at a comeback victory. A hard-fought battle, indeed. Although we came up short, 5-4, there's still much to be proud of in the way our Royals fought all night long.Chin up, Royals fans! We gave them a run for their money and showed grit. Can't wait to see what we bring to the field next game. Go Royals!
